Day 1, Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at the Airport, you will be personally met by our company representative who will transfer you to your Hotel in Kigali for dinner and overnight stay at Kigali Serena Lodge (Luxury), Golf Hills Residence (Mid range) or Chezlando Hotel/Step Town Hotel/Okapi Hotel (Budget)
Day 2, Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will set out for a city tour which will take you around the Genocide Memorial sites and other interesting places. Have lunch and in the afternoon, you will drive north of Kigali to Ruhengeri or Kinigi. This is a 2-3 hours drive and the journey will offer you with stunning views of the country sides with beautiful hillsides that Rwanda has become well known for (Land of a Thousand Hills). Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (mid range) or Kinigi Guest House (Budget ) Mountain Gorilla view Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3, Gorilla trekking in Rwanda
After breakfast at your Lodge, you will get a short briefing from the ranger guides before you set off for your wonderful gorilla trek. Like in Uganda, you are also allowed to stay with the Gorillas for only one hour. You will utilize this time to watch the Gorillas as they go about their daily activities, take photographs and Video coverage and so on. Trekking in Rwanda is not as tiresome as it in Uganda and also the tracking time is not as long as that of its neighbour Uganda. Return back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for a cultural experience. Day 4, Dian Fossey trek and transfer to Uganda via Kisoro and to Bwindi
After breakfast, you will go for morning Dian Fossey’s grave trek on Mt. Karisimbi and Karisoke. Here you will get to know more about this historical lady who is well-known for saving so many Gorilla lives from the poachers and also encouraged Mountain Gorilla conservation. After this you will transfer to Uganda by crossing the border at Cyanika and then to Kisoro. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp (Mid range) or Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge (Luxury) or Wagtail eco Safari Camp (budget)
Day 5, Gorilla trekking Adventure in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, you will report to the park offices for Gorilla tracking briefing. After a short word from the ranger guides and information on how to behave with the Gorillas, you will set off with the guides to track the gorillas. You will encounter many difficulties on your way to see the Gorillas but the moment you set your eyes on them, all the bad memories of the trek will be erased away. You are advised to bring your jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Its well known that each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but most of the time enjoyed is when the adults starts feeding, grooming and resting as the young ones frolic and swing from vines. After the trek, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Forest Camp/Gorilla Resort (Luxury) or Buhoma Lodge Engangi Gorilla Lodge (mid range) or Buhoma community bandas or wagtail eco safari camp (budget) (B-L-D)
Day 6, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale region also known as the Switzerland of Africa. Spend the afternoon on a boat cruise on the Lake and also resting at your Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at Bunyonyi safaris resort (Luxury) or Bunyonyi Arcadia Cottages (Mid range)/Bunyonyi Overland camp (Budget) (B-L-D)
Day 7, Transfer back to Kampala
After a morning breakfast, you will transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for Lunch and also at the Equator monument for photographs and water experiments. Reach Kampala in the evening and you will transfer to your Hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Serena Hotel (Luxury)/Cassia Lodge (Mid Range) or Ministers Village Hotel (budget) for dinner and overnight stay (B-L-D)
Day 8, Kampala city tour
After breakfast, you will set out for the Kampala city tour where you will visit places like the Uganda Museum which will give you more insights of the cultural heritage and the historical architecture of the ancient tribes within Uganda, Kasubi tombs known as the burial place for the Buganda Kings, Namugongo Martyr’s Shrine, Bahai Temple the only one of its kind in Africa, National Theatre, Kabaka’s Lake, Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedrals, Makerere University and the African craft market. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel (Luxury)/Cassia Lodge (Mid Range) or Ministers Village Hotel (budget) for dinner and overnight stay (B-L-D)
Day 9, Departure:
Depending on your flight time, you will be transferred to Entebbe to catch up with your flight back home.
